Last Wednesday, February 23rd, Catalyst Connection hosted the first annual MFG Works Summit at the Commonwealth Charter Academy. 152 attendees participated in the Summit to learn industry best practices on the topics of:
- Talent Attraction
- Hiring
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Employee Retainment
- And More
Our Keynote Speaker, Sabrina Saunders Mosby, kicked the day off and provided an insightful overview of diversity and how the region needs to focus on inclusion.
The day continued on to showcase 19 different rapid fire sessions that informed participants on how the expand their talent “stream” of manufacturing talent, as well as providing overviews of the various resources that manufacturers can leverage within the SWPA region.
In addition to the rapid fire presentations, we had a panel of six manufacturing professionals early in their careers from a diverse mix of companies and backgrounds about their perceptions of manufacturing, what their generation expects from employers, and suggestions on how to better attract and retain a Gen Y and Gen Z workforce.
Overall, the MFG Works Summit was a successful event, as Catalyst Connection continues to receive positive feedback from the day:
“Great content and networking.”
“Excellently executed especially for first ever workshop!”
“Time well spent. Will attend again.”
“Let’s do this more often than once per year!”
“Love it – one of best conferences I have attended”
